The China-Burma-India (CBI) theater is one of the most overlooked American theaters of the Second World War. Despite being often overshadowed by the Normandy campaign and the Pacific Island fighting, the CBI was critical to the ultimate Allied victory. The theater itself is best described as logistical support by the USAAF for Commonwealth forces that were heavily engaged with the Japanese in that theater and went through great hurdles (and "the hump") to get supplies into the theater. The theater is very notable in the brave commitments made by the United States Army Air Forces, as well as the ground forces that were engaged with the Japanese such as the 5307th Composite Unit ("Merrill's Marauders").
