First adopted by the United States Army in 1973,
generations of young soldiers came to love (and sometimes hat humping
ALICE. ALICE of course not being the local stripper trying to secure
some of that sweet, sweet BAH, but instead the "All-Purpose Lightweight
Individual Carrying Equipment". The all in one system included the
soldier's entire webbing gear, pouches, buttpacks and rucksacks. While
many soldiers would be to differ, it was indeed a lot more lightweight
than previously issued canvas webbings as it featured an innovated nylon
construction and simple to use plastic ALICE clips. Gone now were the
days of heavy canvas and metal clips. While the ALICE system was
eventually superseded by the modern MOLLE gear systems, it still holds a
place in the hearts of many old-school warriors who used it over it's
four decades of service.
Constructed from nylon in the US All-Purpose Lightweight Individual
Carrying Equipment (ALICE) system, this extremely tough but remarkably lightweight webbing is constructed from older LC2 variation pistol belt. The belt itself is fully adjustable and able to be cinched down as need. The whole thing is kept together and held up with padded LC1
yoke, making this a great utilitarian rig you can adapt to any use. Any pouches with ALICE clips can be easily added giving you a full battle rattle on the cheap!
