The legendary Texian standard from the Battle of San Jacinto, faithfully replicated from the replica flown whenever the Texas House is in session.
The Battle of San Jacinto is one of the most important battles of the Texas Revolution as it would see the rag-tag Texian Army finally triumph over the Mexican Empire and win independence. The flag was presented to the Newport Rifle Company by the wife of the commander Sidney Sherman prior to the battle. On the 21st of April 1836, the flag would be the only one raised as the Texian Army engaged General Santa Ana's forces. In only 18 minutes of fighting, the Texians routed Mexican forces and became enshrined forevermore in the annals of military history.
