Japanese Flecktarn
The Japanese "Jietai" Type 2 Pattern, also known as "Japanese Flecktarn" in North America, was first adopted by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in 1991 the older Type 1 or "Fang" pattern, which had been adopted in 1965. The design of the pattern takes after the German Flecktarn, in more green hues. The pattern itself features a light khaki background, with dots of light green, brown, and black superimposed in a semi-dense pattern. This makes it exceptionally versatile for both temperate and tropical environments, which is why it continues to see use in Japan after over three decades of service.
