"Diefendi la pasta fabbrica!"
The Italian Deserto Mimetico pattern was implemented in 1991 as a desert variation of the Roma 90 woodland pattern. Designed specifically for troops deploying to the United Nations mission in Somalia, the pattern became synonymous with the Italian Army's involvement in the legendary 1993 Battle for Checkpoint Pasta a few months before the events of "Black Hawk Down" in Mogadishu.
