This certainly ain't your typical tacti-cool-guy patch!

The design of this patch take heavy inspiration from designs dating back to 1640, during the tumultous period of the English Civil War. It isn't drawn from just one particular regiment, but represents some of the common motifs for the Parliamentarians who rose up against King Charles I in that savage conflict.

The distinctive armored sword-arm comes takes inspiration from a few designs including the battle flags of almost a dozen different Parliamentarian Foot Regiments, most prominently in the standard of Sir Christopher Wray (attributed 1642). Most swords face right, and invoke some sort of "Roundhead" declaration of rebellion, most commonly in Latin. All make some allusion to either biblical references or the Christian faith. The Lord was indeed the banner of these 17th century rebels, and the Latin phrase "Iehovah Nissi", a direct reference from the Book of Exodus completes this bold rebel patch.

Measures 3 x 2" and produced with a velcro hook backing.
