Country of Origin:
Faithful reproduction of the Second World War era camo scarves, adopted by the French Army in 1953 for service in the Far East.
This design takes massive design nods from the two colour camo scarves as issued as issued to Airborne and Special Forces soldiers of the British and Commonwealth Armies. Constructed from a 100% cotton mesh, it is significantly comfier wear than modern synthetic "scrim scarves", and was extremely popular when first issued as evidenced by the large amount of wartime photographic evidence.
These scarves would eventually find their way to French Indochina and British Malaya during the postwar period, among the anti-communist factions of the Cold War. There is even evidence of these simple two-colour camo scarves showing up around the necks and faces of European mercenaries as late as the Congo Crisis of the 1960s.
Measures approximately 80 x 35" overall.
