Procurement of these shorts was recommended to us by a former member of the French Foreign Legion, who advised us that a company that sold military short-shorts would not be complete without these legendary shorts.

Manufactured by KANZALAK for the French Army, this piece of kit is popular with French soldiers in hotter climates, and has become particularly popular with the French Foreign Legion in tropical conditions. It features the French Army standard Central Camouflage Europe (CCE) which was first adopted in 1991 to replace older F2 and TAP47 stocks, and augment the standard woodland CCE uniform components.

These short-shorts uniquely feature a double buttoned zippered fly, and 1 inch belt loops to accommodate for belt systems. They also feature slightly oversized hand pockets, which work surprisingly well as the shorts are constructed from a very sturdy cotton ripstop. Despite their rugged and functional construction, the shorts are surprisingly comfortable (we came to this conclusion after extensive testing around the office and in the gym). No wonder these things are popular with the FFL!

Who wears short shorts?
I wear short shorts - well, now, with the help of Fireforce! Like most any other American ordering uniform items from some other country with their crazy metric system, it can make you nervous. 1st, these things look good, and 2nd, the size that FFV says they are is the size they are. I got the 76cm shorts, and the 29.9in that translates to is exactly what they are. I usually wear 29in jeans, and these shorts are snug (but stylish!) I recommend going up a couple cm for your best fit. The ones I receive look unissued , and the hearts drawn over my receipt tells me that military guys are the same the world over - thank you FFV, lots of love your way from this US Soldier, too.
