Country of Origin: France
The heavyweight complement to the French M1947 uniform, was this outstanding four pocket bush jacket, a design light years ahead of similar hard use uniforms that were contemporary to other militaries in the later 1940s. Adopted shortly after the Second World War in 1947, these bush jackets saw extensive use throughout various French colonial conflicts, particularly in Algeria and Indochina. If only these jackets could tell their stories, because they seem to have been all over the world.
They're constructed out of the unique light brown of the M1947 French uniforms, and made from a heavyweight old school cotton twill design. They feature four large buttoned pockets, and adjustable buttoned cuffs. No zippers, no velcro, just the classic bush warrior look with this jacket, making it ideal for re-enactors (both for French, and mercenary forces), anti-Communist LARPers, collectors, and those simply looking for a vintage bush jacket!
Given the relative rarity of these jackets, and their age, it is rather unlikely we'll ever see many of these again. Once they're gone (especially some of the better sizes), they're REALLY gone!
