The British Army's 24th Regiment of Foot's experiences during the Anglo-Zulu War, particularly at Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, has become the stuff of legend. The regiment's performance, both in defeat and victory, contributed to its reputation for professionalism, courage, and discipline. The Royal Welsh perpetuates the legacy of the 24th in the modern British regimental system. The unit was immortalized forever in the epic 1964 film "Zulu", starring Stanley Baker and a then-unknown Michael Caine.
During the Anglo-Zulu War, the 24th identified themselves with a large helmet plate, which adorned their distinctive bleach-white pith hats. The design of this helmet plate has been faithfully recreated and overlaid on top of a background of British scarlet as our tribute to this incredible unit.
Produced in the standard 2x3" size with hook velcro backing, identical in specification to milspec flag patches.
